Home

HOME is a KIDS THRIVE creative exploration of children’s experiences during the COVID-19 lockdowns of 2020 and 2021, and the role ‘home’ played as both a sanctuary and place of lockdown.

HOME is a site-specific, experiential performance for family and community – and also a creative record of children’s experiences of the challenging times of the world-wide pandemic of COVID-19.

The final outcome of the project is three short films (see below) developed in partnership with the Kids Thrive artists, New Haven Primary students and Mick Green of Drift Media.

Films, children’s reflective writings and art works will be held by the Wonthaggi and District Historical Society as an affirmation of the importance of children’s voices in history. These cultural works will be available for community access in perpetuity.

The performance and animation short films are nominated for awards in the Bass Coast Shorts film festival 2023.
